George Abbott, President of Circle Square Solutions

We need to bild new partnerships on the landbase.

George Abbott is a former politician and cabinet minister.  He was a B.C. Liberal Party Member representing the riding of Shuswap from 1996 to 2013, serving as a cabinet minister under premiers Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark.

In April 2018 he submitted the report he co-authored with Chief Maureen Chapman, Addressing the New Normal: 21st Century Disaster Management in BC .  The provincial government is acting on many of the recommendations made in his report.

Before his election to the Legislative Assembly, George was a political science instructor at Okanagan University College and owned the oldest and largest berry farm in the Interior.  His book, Big Promises, Small Government: Doing Less with Less in the B.C. Liberal New Era, was published by UBC Press in 2020.

He and his wife Lesley live in Sicamous and have three children.
